Joel is now a toddler. How did this happen? It seems like he was just a baby!
On Saturday night when I put Joel to bed, I told him when we woke up he would be a toddler. Boy did he take me seriously! Sunday, his birthday, all he wanted to do was walk walk walk! We had a great party out at the sail club and lots of our great friends and family gathered to help us celebrate. He did very much enjoy the cake that Grammie had made and enjoyed "helping" opening the presents. Most of all he enjoyed playing the the rain and wet grass.
This week, I can really see a difference in his level of independence and determination. He gets his mind set that he is going somewhere, and really lets you know he does not like it if you try to change that. We were at the library and he got mad at me when I would not let him continue climbing the HUGE staircase.
Well the first year has been great. I can't wait to see what the second has in store.

How cute! I love it when they get to that "independent" age. Connor was a little late with that one when it came to mobility. Are we going to get birthday pictures??
