If these walls could talk

Everything is coming together for the move. If all goes as planned, we will be moved in Saturday.

It is exciting, and a little bittersweet.

I bought our current home 10 years ago. I was fresh out of college (not quite a year out) with my first "real job." I thought it would be better to buy than pay rent, and I remember feeling well off. So at the ripe age of 23, I bought a house.

Since that time, it has truly become our family home. There are some really great stories of our life that have happened here.

When I first moved in it was just Captain Dog and I. Jason was working on towers at the time, so we only saw him every few months. Captain was the look out dog. I really felt very safe and empowered.

We have had many evenings around the dinning room table. That has tended to be the major hang out spot. The outdoor table under our makeshift veranda was also a favorite spot. Of course in the winter, we also enjoyed evenings in front of the coal burning fire place.

It feels great knowing we are leaving with the house in much better shape than when we moved in. So much has been improved, with the original character of a 1940's house still in tact. It is also helpful to know that we will still own it and we have a great renter coming in!

It is fun to look back at who we were when we moved in and now look at the family we have become.

I know our new home will be a great family home right from the start!
We look foward to all the exciting plans we have for the house and the great time those walls will also see!

Photos to follow!

  1. It sounds like a cozy little place! It sounds adorable, but at least you get to keep it for a while longer. Good luck on the move - I know you'll love the change once you get settled.
