The other woman

Ok so a 15mo old isn't exactly a woman...
but Joel has another girl in his life for sure. Maggie, sweet Maggie.
Maggie has been one of Joel's classmate from the very start, so as of now they have been friends for almost a year.
Almost everyday when I pick Joel up, he and Maggie are "hanging out" together. Today when I dropped him off, Maggie was already there. She stopped playing and ran up to me and exclaimed "Joel!"
Then when I pick him up, they were sitting on the floor looking at books together. They both got up and came over to me. I told Joel to tell Maggie goodbye and give her a hug. He patted her on the head (like he does to Amy, the dog). I picked him up and we waved goodbye to Maggie. She looked at us and then just wailed. She looked totally heartbroken. I should have just stayed and played with them together until her dad got there. I just did not think of it.
So I am actually glad that Joel really has a friend, and so does Maggie.
